The Andean Geophysical Laboratory contains a geophysical database, hardware, and software for the study of Andean orogenic processes, basin formation, and neotectonics. The database includes the CASA (Central And South America) GPS (Global Positioning System) satellite geodetic measurements, 5 minute, 2 minute and 30 second digital topography for the Andes, and over 1000 maps and 170,000 digitized observations in the George Woollard Gravity Map Collection for South and Central America. Facilities include a Trimble GPS Pathfinder, two Trimble Series 4000SSi GPS Receiver Systems, a 44 x 60 inch Digitizer, Digital Scanner, Color Printer, and a 5 workstation Sun Ultra network including 2 Ultra 60's, 1 Ultra 30 and 1 Ultra 10. A range of in-house and commercial software includes for processing GPS observables (GIPSY OASIS II and GAMIT/GLOBK), geographic information systems (Arc/Info) A full-suite of interpretive software from Paradigm Geophysical including Voxel Geo 3D and Geosec 2D), volume-balancing structural interpretations (Move on Fault, 3-D Move), seismic interpretation (LANDMARK, Kingdom Suite), and gravity and magnetic data interpretation (GM-SYS, COMPU-DRAPE, GRIDEPTH, and GRAVMAG).
